Wesley Mattice
Wes is the Head Dive Coach for NC State Swim and DIve. Before moving to North Carolina, Wes was the head coach at George Washington University. He was named 2020 A-10 Men's Diving Coach of the Year. Wes has also been involved as a coach in USA Diving teams since 2001 starting in Connecticut. He has trained some of the nation's most elite divers and has been part of the USA Diving Junior National Coaching Staff from 2015-2021 as well as a Senior Level Coach for team USA at the 2018 US FINA Grand Prix. Wes was a coach for Junior Pan American Championship in 2015, 2017, 2019 and qualified a diver in 2021 before leaving for NC State. In addition he has qualified diver to Olympic trials, coached for Team USA and FINA Junior World Championship 2018 and qualifying a diver in 2020(21).
Outside of coaching Wes was a summer league and age group diver. He also dove in the NCAA for a division II school. He has an interested in art and went to school for Education, Studio Art and Illustration. He is passionate about the promotion of the sport of diving as well as furthering his education in youth development and coaching.
